Natural Care, Lasting Companionship – A Professional Maintenance Guide for Wooden Hair Brushes

As a wooden hairbrush factory dedicated to crafting natural grooming tools, we understand that every wooden brush is not just a daily hair care essential but a work of art infused with craftsmanship and the beauty of nature. To help your brush stand the test of time, we’ve compiled this detailed maintenance guide to preserve its longevity, ensuring it continues to nurture healthy hair and retain its natural elegance.

1. Daily Cleaning: Gentle Dust Removal, Avoiding Damage

1. Regularly Remove Hair

After each use, gently detangle trapped hairs between the bristles using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. Avoid leaving strands behind, as they may strain the wooden structure over time.

2. Dry Cleaning with a Soft Brush

Use a dry soft-bristled toothbrush or a dedicated cleaning brush to lightly sweep away oils and dust from the base of the bristles. **Never rinse under water**, as moisture can seep into the wood, causing warping or cracking.

3. Wipe the Surface Carefully

Dampen a lint-free cloth (wring until nearly dry) to quickly wipe the wooden handle, then immediately dry it with a separate cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.

---

2. Drying & Storage: Keep Dry, Maintain Stability

-Air Dry in Ventilation

After cleaning, place the brush in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heaters to prevent wood from drying out, cracking, or fading.

Prevent Moisture & Mold

In humid climates, store the brush with a silica gel packet or bamboo charcoal pouch to absorb excess moisture and inhibit mold growth.

Lay Flat for Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the brush flat in a breathable cotton pouch. Avoid hanging or stacking heavy items on it to prevent bristle deformation.

---

3. Periodic Nourishment: Revive with Natural Oils

Monthly Deep Conditioning

Apply a small amount of natural oil (e.g., coconut oil, olive oil, or specialized wood wax) to a soft cloth and rub it evenly onto the wooden parts. Let it absorb for 15 minutes before wiping off excess oil.

Tip: Avoid oils containing harsh chemicals or solvents, which may damage the wood.

2.  Bristle Care

For boar bristle or natural fiber brushes, occasionally cleanse with diluted mild shampoo. Rinse lightly, pat dry with a towel, and air-dry bristle-side down.

4. What to Avoid: Habits That Shorten Your Brush’s Life!

- ❌ Soaking, rinsing, or using a hairdryer to speed up drying

- ❌ Exposure to alcohol, acidic cleaners, or steam heat

- ❌ Storing in damp environments like bathrooms

- ❌ Rough handling, dropping, or knocking against hard surfaces

5. FAQs

1. Q: How do I remove dandruff buildup between bristles?

A: Wrap a cotton pad around a toothpick, dab with a drop of tea tree oil, and gently scrub. Its natural antibacterial properties clean without harming the wood.

2,Q: My brush handle has small cracks. Can I fix it?

A: Apply a thin layer of wood wax, seal in a plastic bag for 24 hours, and minor cracks may close. For severe damage, contact our customer service.

3. Q: Can I use it on wet hair?

A: We recommend towel-drying hair to dampness first. Always ensure the brush is thoroughly dried afterward.
